Relevant Information for the Accountability of Private Institutions of Social Solidarity: Results from Fieldwork

The social economy (SE) has emerged as an interesting alternative for dealing with problems. However, there are some concerns related to the abilities of these institutions regarding accountability. Thus, present work aimed determine if private solidarity (IPSS) prepared meet management requirements by increasing their In Portugal, IPSS organisations. Using exploratory focus, we conducted qualitative research on 31 Portuguese IPSS. Interviews those responsible entities took place between June and July 2019. interviews were guided based a semistructured script that was created literature review. After content analysis, it found that, in most interviewed, board does not use tools, such performance impact assessments, strategic planning, quality systems, even though they recognise importance using them. This is due lack access or knowledge about use. addition, majority interviewed showed concern transparency ethics managers. Current practices remarkably targeted at companies for-profit sector can compromise principles investment human issues.
